CÔTE RÔTIE - E. GUIGAL

Domaine Guigal was founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal in Ampuis, a small ancient village and cradle of the Côte-Rôtie appellation. It is home to a unique vineyard where vines and wine have been celebrated for 2400 years.
Arrived in 1924 at the age of 14, the founder vinified 67 harvests in Côte-Rôtie and participated at the beginning of his career in the development of Establishments Vidal-Fleury. In 1961, although very young, Marcel Guigal took over the management of the House alongside his father who was suddenly struck with total blindness. He was joined in 1973 by his wife Bernadette and worked together to develop the family business. In 1975, their son Philippe was born, today the oenologist of the house.
Accompanied by his wife Eve, he represents the third generation and continues the family work in the service of the Great Wines of the Rhône Valley. Since 1946, work and perseverance have borne fruit and certain stages attest to this, such as the acquisition of Establishments Vidal-Fleury in the early 1980s, which still retain full commercial autonomy and their own identity.
